* Folks have seen a number of great photographs and artworks using people as the fundamental building blocks for larger images the past few days so it’s kind of really worth to round them up into a single post. The so-called „living photographs“ are done on a monumental scale. By arranging thousands of soldiers (reservists, or nurses) in various patriotic symbols and photographing them from above, they were able to use lines of perspective to transform meaningless masses into artistic shapes and even portraits.

* We also have another recent video by Luis Filipe Gaspar of the North Korean Mass Games, an impressive if somewhat chilling spectacle of 150,000 thoroughly choreographed participants who create expansive murals using large flipped boards.

* The Rungrado May First Stadium, that can seat 150,000, is the stage for the extraordinary and meticulously choreographed „Arirang“ Festival that celebrates the anniversary of the Great Leader Kim Il-Sung. This gymnastic and artistic performance commonly referred to as Mass Games, is famed for the huge mosaic picture created by more than 30,000 thoroughly drilled and disciplined participants.
