Rail movements in Holland

* With advances in technology, we’re constantly able to see things as we never have before, whether they be satellite images showing us the beauty of earth from space or, like the animation below, raw data visualized into beguiling patterns. Their work includes the BBC series Britain From Above, Germany From Above, and their latest project Netherlands From Above, which took over two years to research.

* Dutch public TV producer / broadcaster VPRO first approached 422 South in December 2010. A year later, the first fruits of the collaboration between the Bristol based vis FX house and their Amsterdam client are hitting Dutch TV screens – to considerable acclaim. 422 South had come to the attention of VPRO producer Jasper Koning as a result of their groundbreaking data visualization work for the BBC’s Britain from Above (Lion TV) and subsequently for two series of Germany from Above for public broadcaster ZDF.

* With only two weeks to go until the Geneva Motor Show, lots of car companies are already revealing bits and pieces about their upcoming cars and concepts. Today we get a first look at the Infiniti Emerge-E, their answer to the electric supercar trend. So far there are no specs, but in terms of design the concept certainly convinces, featuring lots of curves and just overall aggressive lines.

* Imagine walking into your hotel room and experiencing this! Artist Tilt has created Panic Room inside the Au Vieux Panier hotel in Marseille, France. The unique hotel has five rooms which are redone annually by a different artist. In essence, they invite artists, graphic designers and painters into their rooms to create amazing and distinct atmospheres. Though there isn’t much information about this particular room yet (we’re still searching), the photos, taken just last month by designer and photographer Big Addict (aka Roudet Benjamin), speak for themselves. While one side of the room is decorated in stark white, the other has Tilt’s colorful graffiti spray painted all over, including the walls, the floor, and even the bed!

* Even if you’re not a fan of basketball, everything looks amazing in slow motion. The dunks were filmed with a Phantom HD high speed camera, and this was the first year the NBA did this. I really hope this becomes a trend, because this is freaking awesome.

* Whipple Russel Architects has created the Hopen Place nestled in the hills of Hollywood, California. This spacious and airy design provides the luxury of space and privacy in a community prone to cramped spaces and crowded neighborhoods. Modern and sleek edges transition from the indoors through to the back yard bringing the luxurious ambiance from the inside out. The geometric layout stretches all the way to the infinity pool that overlooks the lights of the valley below. Minimal clutter and clean lines give the Hopen Place a serene and polished aesthetic, one that any fan of modernism would envy.

OSCARVERLEIHUNG in Hollywoods Kodak Theater LIVE mitzuerleben. Mrs Streep als „The Iron Lady„) verdiente Oscar-GewinnerInnen hervorbrachte. Selbst Stummfilme („The Artist„) sind wieer IN !

* At this year’s Oscars, Jean Dujardin and Meryl Streep certainly weren’t the only winners. Check out the list below for the winners in the order they were announced at Sunday night’s Academy Awards show.

And the OSCAR goes to…
