Die historische Turnhalle eines ehemaligen Polizeihauptquartiers – und das mitten im Big Apple – umzufunktionieren… würd so ausehen.Hier hat sich jemand ein etwas luxuriösen Wohnraum geschaffen und mit Hilfe des Architekts Charles Gwathmey gleich den gesamten Sportflügel des altehrwürdigen Beaux Arts Police Headquarters-Gebäudes umbauen lassen. Entstanden ist ein mehr als ungewöhnliches Crib mitten im Herzen des SoHo-Districts.

This awesome 6,000 square foot crib is located in the former gymnasium of the original Beaux Arts Police Headquarters Building in the modern SoHo district of Manhattan. The intention was to physically maintain the structural expression of the existing space, while adding a master bedroom suite and study/library balcony, and integrating rare painting and sculpture collections. Archi-Tectonics designed the Schein Loft in Manhattan, New York:
“Wrapping itself over and along an existing renovated six-story warehouse, the GW 497 building creates a suspended glass waterfall on the edge of New York City’s SoHo district. Eleven stories in height, the structure defines itself as a reinterpretation of the city’s strict building setback regulations. A process of mathematical inflection of the glass planes was introduced to provide a system that would transform the segmented façade into a more continuous set of glass ripples, thus creating a folded vertical landscape of glass and steel.“

Alicia Keys und ihr Ehemann Swizz Beatz höchstpersönlich wollen ihr Schmuckkästchen loswerden. Nach ihrer damaligen Übernahme von Lenny Kravitz haben sie hier und da sicherlich die eine oder andere Anschaffung wie Motorräder und moderne Kunstsammlerstücke getätigt. Jetzt ist aber erstmal die Ziet für ein neues Eigenheim im Big Apple gekommen und das vorher erworbene, komplett sonnendurchflutete Penthouse hat in der Zwischenzeit seinen ohnehin nicht ganz unüppigen Marktwert nochmals um weitere zweieinhalb Milliönchen auf nunmehr knapp 18 Mio. $ gesteigert!

Noch mehr Luxus aufm 456 W Broadway in bester Location des NYC SoHo-In-Districts! Son Örtchen wo man gern ne Absteige hätte, war da quasi immer abrbeitsbedingt! Diesmal sind’s die deutschen Schwaben, die sich dort ihre Fashionflügel breit gemacht haben, auch nur erwähnenswert, weil ich das Ding noch nicht sichten konnte. Auf mehr als 250 qm befindet sich so allerlei für den ’sophisticated‘ daher kommenden US-Porscheliebhaber der Hipster-Fraktion. Checkt den Scheiss aus, wenn ihr wollt, ich mags ja lieber dezenter. I don’t need to brag…oder doch ??? Nu‘ auch die unvergleichliche Architektur, in der sich der Megastore der Stuttgarter Luxuskarossenschmiede befindet, gleicht dem typischen Cast-Iron-Gebäudestil dieser West-Broadway-Area! Riecht einfach nur nach VIP – àpropos, unser Stichwort des Tages!
